Julia A. Kim graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology, magna cum laude and with honors, and from the University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of Law. She is admitted to practice in North Carolina, the District of Columbia, and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Ms. Kim is an intellectual property and registered patent attorney with numerous years of experience serving the life sciences sector, including large pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, start-ups, and universities. Her practice includes serving as intellectual property counsel for start-up companies, negotiating and drafting intellectual property agreements, litigating intellectual property disputes, preparing and prosecuting patent applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, preparing patent-related opinions, and representing clients before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Currently, Julia serves as Licensing Committee Co-Chair of the Intellectual Property Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association (June 2013-present).
